Jobs by Personality Type Ranking Methodology

All wage, projected growth (over 10 years), and degree level data displayed on these pages comes from the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Standard Occupational Classification.

Personality trait data comes from Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET), which has occupational experts answer questions about each job. Their answers are then compiled to assign traits a score out of five for each job.

Best Jobs for Myers-Briggs Personality Type

To be considered for introvert lists (INTP, INTJ, INFP, INFJ, ISTP, ISTJ, ISFP, ISFJ), jobs were required to have a social interaction rating less than three out of five.

To be considered for extrovert lists (ENTP, ENTJ, ENFP, ENFJ, ESTOP, ESTJ, ESFP, ESFJ) jobs were required to have a social interaction rating greater than 3.5 out of five.

Each personality type was mapped to two or three O*NET traits. The ratings for these traits were then multiplied, and jobs were ranked in descending order based on that number.
